Septic Design Services for New Construction, Expansions, and Failing Systems
Every property is different, and every septic design should reflect the specific conditions of the site. South Road Designs provides practical, well-planned septic design services for homeowners who need a system for a new home, an addition, an accessory dwelling unit, or a failing system.
New Home Septic Design
Planning a new home starts with understanding how the property can support the full layout. South Road Designs prepares septic designs that account for soil conditions, site features, and the placement of key elements like the home, leachfield, septic tank, driveway, and well.

Replacement Systems for Additions and Expansions
Adding a bedroom, planning an addition, or building an accessory dwelling unit can change the sewage load on the property. South Road Designs prepares replacement system designs that help homeowners plan for additions while meeting current requirements.

Failed System Septic Designs
If your current system is failing, the next step can feel overwhelming. I help property owners understand the site, review options, and move toward a design that works for the property and supports the approval process through South Road Designs.

Permit by Notification and Shoreland Permit Assistance
Some projects need more than septic design alone. South Road Designs also offers help with Permit by Notification filings and shoreland permits for qualifying projects.

South Road Designs Proudly Serves New Hampshire Landowners
South Road Designs is based in Deerfield, New Hampshire, with a core service area that includes Deerfield, Candia, and Raymond. Services are also available throughout Rockingham County, Merrimack County, Hillsborough County, and Strafford County. A Straightforward Septic Design Process
While every property is unique, there are a few key steps that help shape a successful septic design and keep the project moving.
1. Research the Property
I start with land records, zoning information, and any existing survey material that helps define the property and its constraints.
3. Test Pits and Survey Work
Test pits and topographic survey information help establish the soil conditions and site details needed for design.
5. Prepare and Submit the Design
Once the layout is set, the design is prepared and moved into the approval process with the local and state offices involved.
2. Evaluate the Site
Whenever possible, I visit the site early to understand the layout, terrain, and any features that could affect the design.
4. Plan the Layout
I review the property with the client and work through the placement of the home, septic tank, leachfield, driveway, well, and other important features.
